The second gown, the blue one, which is a
symbol for tolerance, is your masterpiece that
is treasured by thousands of abbey visitors
and now exhibited at the National Museum of
Zurich along with seventeen other gowns.
Some of them are over 100 years old. Tell me,
how is it to see your handwork in a historical
exhibition like this?
It is always nice to feel a sense of appreciation for
your hard work. It was the same feeling when I
watched my handmade costumes for DJ BOBO on
stage in the spotlight. And now I’m more than
happy to see my work presented like this. I’m
glad that I decided to make a statement for
tolerance, specially these days, when the world
needs more tolerance and acceptance in our
elbow society.
I highly recommend visitors in Zurich to visit this
exhibition. It is a modern exhibition with
historical, informative and educational items
from the abbey. I think the museum did a great
job. The location right next to Zurich main station
makes it easy for visitors to stop by even during
lunch break and find new inspiration. The culture
and historical museum in Zurich is the most
visited museum in Switzerland. The exhibition
started on September 16. 2017 and is ending in
January 2018 after 18 weeks. This is an
unbelievable and historical exhibition because
the abbey is celebrating its 1000 pilgrim year.
I do remember that you made the DJ BOBO
costumes in the most difficult time in our life.
And it really was like a therapy for your soul.
You did it all by yourself. Three themes for
eleven dancers on stage in a short matter of
time. I was and still am so proud of you.
I also remember the making process for the
Black Madonna. The first dress for the Black
Madonna was painstakingly hand-
embroidered with white and gold beads.
